If one could custom-order a reader, and if, say, one could ask that that reader would be thoughtful and often far more insightful and informed than one, and kind and lovely even in their criticism, and patient when others would have long ago thrown up the towel (haha! I am leaving that preposition typo in, for humour)... if one could do all those things, I do not think that person would be such a joy to have in one's writing life as you.

I was concerned that the shirt was too much of my magpie-Arthur bias showing its face again, but it's one of those things that came first and would not leave, and so I left it in. They have to find increasingly inventive ways to communicate as this goes on, but it's fitting that it's difficult straight away, I think.

As for them realising what they are to each other: yes yes yes. And also (I'm fast-forwarding for you here, like a loser; oh, [livejournal.com profile] syllic), this is about Merlin beginning to realise (without realising he's beginning to realise) that he's not actually as accepting and zen about that period of silence as he thought.
